Every individual is different, so pain varies from person to person. This also depends on the area being treated and the sensitivity of your skin. Generally, you can experience slight discomfort during the treatment, most clients find the treatment quite toloerable. Numbing cream can be applied for 20-30 minutes before treatment.  Pain medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen that thin blood and promote bleeding are not recommended.

After the procedure, you can return to normal activities. PicoWay Resolve is a “no downtime” procedure with just 8 to 36 hours to mild erythema (redness). There is little discomfort following the procedure, and makeup can be applied the next day.  However, it is still recommended to not undergo the treatment immediately before any significant events.

PicoWay Resolve treatments usually take 30 minutes to complete, and allows for up to 2-5 passes over the full face. Most clients like to add on neck or hand treatments, which will add to the treatment time.

1. Tanned skin: You must avoid the sun or tanning beds for 30 days prior to treatment. If you fail to avoid the sun, blisters and hypopigmentation/hyperpigmentation may occur. You must also avoid direct sun exposure for another month after treatment.
2. Accutane therapy: You must stop 12 months prior to treatment.
3. Fake tans: You must stop 2 weeks prior.
4. History of photosensitivity to infared light
5. If you have acne breakout or infected areas you cannot be treated

8. Photsensitizing medications: You must   stop 2 weeks prior to treatment.
9. Medications and suppliments: Iron supplements, anti-coagulation therapy, herbal supplements (i.e. ginkgo, ginsenf, garlic, fish oil) may cause bruising more readily.
10. Topical medications and skin care products (acids, glysolics, retinoids, AHA, BHA): You must  discontinue use 5 days pre- and post-treatment.
11. Poorly-controlled medical conditions: A healthcare provider must  evaluate you and provide medical clearance prior to treatment.
12. Active skin infections: open wounds or skin that is infected cannot be treated.
13. Keloid scarring: A test patch is needed to see if ink clearance is possible.
14. HSV 1 & 2: Cannot treat if active lesion(s) are present within the treatment area. Clients with history should begin prophylaxis prior to treatment as prescribed by their healthcare provider.
15. Implanted medical devices: consult healthcare provider before treatment if you have a pacemaker, cardioverters and other implantable devices or fillers.

Preparation steps for Picoway Resolve Treatment

• Avoid sun exposure:  Refrain from sun exposure for at least 4 weeks before the treatment.
• Avoid certain medications:  Steer clear of medications like blood thinners to reduce the risk of bruising and complications.
• Discontinue oral or topical medications 7-14 days before treatment, such as acne products or retinol.
• Stay away from self- tanning products two weeks before treatment and remove any residual self-tanner.
• Refrain from botox and filler treatments at least two weeks before the session.
• Aim to arrive for your appointment with clean skin.

Aftercare tips for Picoway Resolve:

• Expect mild erythema (redness) and edema (swelling) for 8-36 hours.
• Gently cleanse the skin using a mild cleanser and lukewarm water, avoiding hot water or vigorous scrubbing.
• Avoid harsh skincare products containing chemicals or exfoliants that may irritate the treated area.
• Shield your skin from the sun for at least two weeks post- treatment using SPF 30+ sunscreen.
• Have patience as full results may take weeks or months to show, with pigmented areas normalizing after about a week.
• Resist picking or scratching at any peeling or falling off spots to prevent scarring.
• Mineral makeup can be applied the day after the treatment.
